transport at notafe's international summer school: how to arrive: in case you don’t use your own car, the best ways to arrive to estonia are by bus (russia, germany, ukraine), by ferry (sweden, finland) or by plane (from… anywhere else). by bus? there several bus-connections from different destinations in europe. just remember that the destinations you have to keep in mind are either tallinn, tartu or pärnu. all these three stations have straight and quite frequent bus-connection with viljandi. it takes about two and a half hours to drive from tallinn by bus to viljandi, the length of time from tartu to viljandi and pärnu is about an hour.

by ferry? ferry (jet) is the easiest and probably the cheapest way to travel from scandinavia (finland, sweden) to estonia. there are many companies offering you a trip to tallinn by ferry or by jet, here are some useful links: eckeroline lindaline tallink viking line by plane?
the only international airport in estonia is tallinn airport in our capital. the good news for everybody who are not afraid of "super" conditions during the flight is that the low-budget airline-company easyjet have started to make flights from london (stansted) to tallinn airport. you can also use the connections provided by air baltic. since the distance between tallinn and viljandi is about the same as between riga and viljandi, you could also arrive to riga international airport - the capital of latvia. and then take a bus from riga to estonia. festival's bus unfortunately there isn't planned such thing as festival's bus this year. however, if it will happen that there are many guests arriving to tallinn airport the same time we could help you with transport. naturally it requires a previous agreement.
local transport viljandi is quite a little town where in the centre you can walk from one side of the town to the other within 2o minutes, sometimes even less. all the spaces of the conference are concentrated to very close to each other. it's the same with most of the potential accommodation places.
